After a week's delay, and I'm sure you all saw the review for Summer With Love last week. It was a fantastic book that I loved reading. I was impressed with the amount of support for Save the Date by Allie Spencer, and the comments about her books are making me very tempted to just read one.
This week we are going from a selection of my paperbacks, as I yet again appear to be neglecting them.
I am also awful at deciding what book to read next, as I often have about 10 titles or authors jumping into my brain at any time, shouting at me to read them, and I tend to worry I have made the wrong decision while reading a perfectly good book. I am hoping this will save me having to make at least 1 choice a week, while possibly providing a review to the site of a book you all either love or are curious about yourselves.
So what I am proposing, is my lovely loyal readers of Rachel's Random Reads, select one book for me to read a week, and I will post the review the following week.
This weeks random numbers are...
And the books these numbers correspond to are...
So the 5 choices with my gut feeling responses are:
12 - Between Sisters by Cathy Kelly - Always a fan of Cathy Kelly, she is the sort of author you know what you are getting, however I do find I prefer her older books to the newer ones.
18 - If They Could See Me Now by Denise Welch - This arrived unsolicited the other week and looks like my sort of book, and I know I should review it at some point
51 - The Woman Who Stole My Life by Marian Keyes - Been meaning to pick this up to read for ages, however the only books I've read by this author has been the Walsh series.
58 - The CEO Buys In - Wager of Hearts Book 1 by Nancy Harkness - I believe this should be a lovely romance book, including some gambling
80 - All is Not Forgotten by Wendy Walker - Brand new psychological thriller that I happen to have a copy of very early before release in July.
I think this is a very interesting selection but haven't got the faintest which is going to win. Will it be one of the big Irish authors, or are you most curious about one of the other books, that may not always get as much attention? Would love to see your thoughts as always.
Pick your favourite or the one you most want me to review, or just the one you are curious about, and leave me a comment below, before midnight on Wednesday.
I look forward to seeing what I will be reading over the weekend, courtesy of you all.
The explanation if you haven't seen the feature before.
How is this going to work?
Every Monday, I am going to have a post like this, which is going to have some choices on it. I am planning on using random.org to select 7 random numbers, to coincide with my spreadsheet of unread books.
I will from that produce a list of hopefully 5 books, I reserve the right to veto any books, and will give reasons for them, if it occurs.
I will take screenshots and post them, of the chosen books, and also give you my instinctive reactions to the choices (without checking blurbs or any other info about them, which could be interesting as there are probably many forgotten about books on my spreadsheet!).
Your task is to post a comment on this post, with the book you would like me to read this week. At midnight on Wednesday I will take a tally of the votes and the book with the most, I will read and review for the following Monday, where you will also get a new choice post.
In the event of a tie, I will chose which one appeals most, for the Monday review, and possibly try and read and review the other to appear when I can.
I am hoping this will provide some variety to the books appearing, and will let me potentially read or discover some great authors that I have wanted to read but not got around to yet.

@gilbster1000 I have Denise Welch on my TBR and didn't like the Marian Keyes so my vote goes to Cathy Kelly.
From Book Connectors FB group:
ReplyDeleteJoanne Baird The only one of those I've read is the Marian Keyes and I loved it! I have seen others say they didn't think it was her best but I thought it was funny and warm as always with quite an unusual slant.
Go for 12 the Cathy Kelly as I didn't think this Marian Keyes was as good as usual
ReplyDeleteI'm deliberating between 2 but I think 51 - The Woman Who Stole My Life by Marian Keyes has to be my pick because I generally like her books!
ReplyDeleteI'd go for the Cathy Kelly - really didn't get on with that Marian Keyes and didn't finish or review...
ReplyDelete12 Cathy Kelly sounds good. Started to read the Marian Keyes one once, but wasn't all that into it and stopped.
ReplyDeleteThe Woman Who Stole My Life Maryan Keyes ... I love her books
ReplyDeleteI've been disappointed in Marion Keyes books, so I'd go for Kathy Kelly.

@gilbster1000 @DarcieBoleyn will have to be Marian Keyes because she did this fab talk on #LBF16 today, I heard ... :D
I would go for the Wendy Walker one as I love psychological thrillers at the moment. It is quite an early release, so my second option would be the Marian Keyes one. Enjoy whichever you read.
