2 Years On... Rachel's Random Resources

What a difference two years can make..  2 years ago I had moved house to the middle of nowhere and took that as the opportunity to quit my incredibly boring warehouse job, and make the potentially disastrous decision (especially if I listened to family members, who were predicting doom and gloom), of setting up my own business , organising blog tours.

So Rachel's Random Resources was born, and I can honestly say I've never been happier.. ok I've possibly never worked as hard in my life, i really am turning into a boring workaholic at times, but I am so much more settled generally its unbelievable.

To every single person that has supported Rachel's Random Resources over the last two years, I honestly couldn't do it without you.

To the book bloggers - without you no tour would ever run, I'm eternally grateful every single day that you seem to want to read the books that I have to offer you, and better still generally seem to really enjoy them.   There are never going to be enough ways to say thank you to you all, but please, please, keep it up!!

To the authors - thank you so much for trusting me to put together fabulous promotions for your books, I'm still two years on, very excited whenever I see a new enquiry in my inbox, and can't wait to see what reaction your book will get.

To the readers of blogs - thank you on behalf of all my bloggers and authors that I work with, if you weren't all reading the blog tour posts, and possibly buying books on the strength of our recommendations, then this giant house of cards would topple.   Whether you read one or many blog posts each day or week, you play the most important part of this whole process. Without readers, then the authors would be sunk, and then us book bloggers wouldn't have anything to should about!

It has been a massive year of growth for Rachel's Random Resources, around 400 tours and cover reveals run since this time last year, with 100 more already pencilled in for the rest of this year and onwards.

In fact again a massive thank you to any authors and bloggers that I work with, reading this for your patience especially on days when I'm overwhelmed with emails and replies and just need to make graphics instead of reply.  I really do appreciate it.

And don't worry for those of you regularly reading my blog the reviews are still coming, I'm reading as much as I can, and somehow read 36 books while I was on that massively relaxing holiday to Madeira, so I will in time have all of those reviews coming in.

Long term fans of Rachel's Random Reads my have realised I love a Christmas book - I've start very slowly reading a few of this years festive releases, and I'm already impressed  - Christmas book review will start appearing from 25th September onwards most likely until mid December, with occasional other books cropping up too!

I really need to stop rambling,  I'm sure this why I don't write these sorts of posts that often.

But truly from the bottom of my heart  I'm so massively grateful to everyone and anyone that supports my little business, no matter how you do so.

Oh - would be wrong for me to not mention that I am always on the look out for more blog tour hosts so if you have a blog, or review regularly on a FB / Insta account, I'd love to have you onboard.

And if any of you are going to the Capital Crime festival  at the end of September then I look forward to meeting you there!.

Happy 2nd Birthday Rachel's Random Resources - let's raise a glass to another year of blog tour success!!

1 Year On.... Rachel's Random Resources

I can't believe that this time last year, I was writing post about launching my new business to the world.   How the time flies, and what a difference a year makes.

In the past year I have organised over 200 blog tours, blog blitzes, publication day celebrations and cover reveals for a large number of authors across all genres, and have so far close to another 80 or so booked in for the rest of this year too.

I can safely say that if it wasn't for the overwhelming support of the book community, that I wouldn't be in this position today.

To the book bloggers who are giving up their time, day after day to read the books for the blog tours, to share their love of books, you guys are an inspiration, and I literally couldn't do anything with out you.

From the bottom of my heart, a massive thank you to each and every one of you.

And if you are a blogger who is interested in taking part in the blog tours I organise then please do sign up to be a host, I would love to hear from you.

To all the authors who have taken a chance on a relative unknown's business, to organise a blog tour or promotion for you, again a massive thank you.  It has been a complete pleasure working with you all, and I hope to continue working with you all as you write new books!

I think I will always remember being in The Diner, a restaurant on the Strand when my first enquiry email came in, from Maxine Morrey about a tour for The Best Little Christmas Shop, and I was so excited but knew I needed to wait until I got home to reply to it properly. All I will say is that watching Kinky Boots was a bit of a blur as my mind was on that email and the thought that maybe, if an author I love reading is happy to work with me, that this may not be a bad decision.

So a special thank you Maxine, for being my first, you are a star.

Back in April I finally left my freelance position with Authoright, and since then I have been 100% committed and working full time on Rachel's Random Resources, which is a decisions that my family thought I was nuts for - but I feel I have been proved right, as some days I don't have a chance to breathe.

I wouldn't change being hectically busy at times, for the world and I am so glad that I have started this business, and I just hope that the first year wasn't a fluke!

Thank you to everyone that has supported me and hopefully will continue to support me, whether its taking part in tours, sharing each others posts,  trusting me.  My confidence has grown over the past year and I am absolutely loving life at the moment.  Finally think I have found a job that I can do ,and I hope do well.

I am so so proud of my wonderful testimonials page, and know that if things do slow down, or doubts creep in I can refer back to it, and get an instant lift.

And for those of you, who are only interested in me as a blogger, don't worry my love of reading is still strong, as is taking "reading breaks" during the day, and I am still reviewing  - and since its September, anyone who knows me will know  - that means its Christmas book season - they will be starting to appear on the blog shortly (I may have read a couple of wintery ones in August!) -  so expect to see my going Christmas mad.

(I do have space in November / December to organise Christmas blog tours if you are an author with a festive book - just saying!)

Well that was more rambly than I was anticipated so if you think its too long in short:

A massive thank you, I can't believe Rachel's Random Resources is 1 years old today!
