Novice stylist Amber Green is taking on the glittering celebrity world of Manhattan one fashion disaster and wardrobe malfunction at a time!

When her TV producer boyfriend Rob announces that he’s been offered a job in New York, filming with the infamous Angel Wear lingerie models, Amber knows its her perfect chance to take the New York fashion world by storm.

But Amber wasn’t counting on unruly toddler photo shoots, clandestine designer handbag scams and a Hollywood star who is determined to wear as little as possible on the red carpet. Until she meets a disgraced former designer who could turn her career around…or leave it all in tatters.

Fun, adventure, glamour and high-fashion make this is the perfect feel good women’s fiction read

Light hearted, fun, a delightful sequel to The Stylist.

All the wonderful characters that I had grown to love in the first book were back, and then there was a whole new cast of characters too to learn.

Things are never quiet in Amber Green's world, and after she moves to Manhattan with boyfriend Rob, a few chance photos on instagram send her star soaring.

Add in a new client who has almost no need for a stylist, a fashion designer in need of a relaunch, plus celebrities, drunken behaviour and a fab contract, and you get a really enjoyable book.

Lots of antics making sure that Amber Green's life is anything but boring. I'm not completely sure if this works as a standalone, as from the first few pages I suddenly remembered enough about the first book to mean, I was fully engrossed in this one, a lot quicker than normal.

Absolutely love Rosie Nixon's writing style and I'm very curious as to what she will be releasing next, and if by some small hope its another Amber Green book then I will be delighted.

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Book Review - The Stylist by Rosie Nixon

When Amber Green, a shop assistant in an exclusive London boutique is plucked from obscurity and mistakenly offered a job working with Mona Armstrong, the infamous, jet-setting 'stylist to the stars', she hits the ground running, helping to style some of Hollywood's hottest (and craziest) starlets.

As awards season spins into action Mona is in hot demand and Amber's life turned upside down. Suddenly she catching the attention of two very different suitors, TV producer Rob and Hollywood bad boy rising star Liam. How will Amber keep her head? And what the hell will everyone wear?

The Stylist is a fast paced, hugely entertaining story, set during the madness that is award season. Amber Green despite not really knowing fashion, stumbles into an assistant stylist job, with big stylist to the stars Mona Armstrong. In a story that goes from the Golden Globes, the BAFTAs and the Ocscars, taking in a  premiere, multiple red carpets and then an exotic wedding, you barely pause for breath as Amber helps keep all the stars looking brilliant.

Of course nothing is as simple as it sounds, nor should it be for entertainment purposes. Mona is not exactly the easiest boss to work for and it soon becomes apparent the Amber is doing all the work. She also seems to be able to strike up a rapport with some of the starlets that she is styling.

I loved how the action flitted between Los Angeles and London, but in keeping with a busy work schedule, you barely get to see much of the locales, focusing more on the many work emergencies that keep cropping up.

There are fabulous descriptions of the various designer dresses involved, and although I know nothing about fashion, I had heard of a lot of a lot of the designers being mentioned.

In some respects this book really did remind me of The Devil Wears Prada, both have bosses that expect far too much, with assistants that barely know the industry. Both are funny, and exhaust the main character regularly.

Amber meets two men that peak her interest, LA actor Liam, and TV Producer Rob, who she has a lot of contact with as there is pilot about Mona being filmed during this whole time frame.

My favourite minor character was Pinky. There is just something very entertaining about a pet miniature pig, and this one seemed to take a liking to Amber.

I really enjoyed this debut book from Rosie Nixon, it was just what I needed to counteract, the chilling book that I read the day before.

Thanks to Netgalley and MIRA for this review book. This is my honest opinion.
