Two families. One cancelled flight. And a last minute house swap...

Things get desperate for strangers Harriet and Sophie when they become stranded with their families in Heathrow's Terminal 5. Each woman has her own reason for really really really needing the family holiday they've anticipated for months. But Iceland's volcano has other plans for them. When their flights are cancelled, the families swap houses and discover that sometimes the best things in life happen close to home.

This ash cloud has a silver lining, even if no one can quite see it yet.

Well I know first hand how disruptive an ash cloud can be on travel plans, so could sympathise with both Harriet and Sophie for not getting the holidays they had paid for.

In an inspired move though they offer to swap houses for a fortnight, in order to have a holiday from their norm, and a staycation of sorts.

It is always a delight to read a Michele Gorman novel, and I just loved the concept of this one

And even more so I loved how our two leading ladies changed over the course of the book, as did their families.

There are memorable scenes involving Spot (who is not a dog), a hot tub, a rather unusual massage to name only 3 of them!

Harriet is rather unusual, she likes to be incredibly well organised, but even her family who are used to it can find it a bit exhausting.  Whereas I took a rather fast dislike to Sophie's husband Dan.

I loved every second of this mad holiday swap and seeing just what these new circumstances did to each person.

Thank you to Trapeze and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
