Privacy Policy

Rachel's Random Reads does not share personal information with third-parties nor do we store information we collect about your visit to this blog for use other than to analyze content performance through the use of cookies, which you can turn off at anytime by modifying your Internet browser's settings. Review Policy - Updated 26th July 2018 - I am currently closed to all approaches while I settle into a new work / blog balance. I'm very sorry but taking on anything else whether a review or content for the time being just isn't going to work. The only exception is if I have agreed to work with you before in which case I will do my best to fit something in for you.

Of course if you would like me to organise a blog tour, cover reveal or create some gorgeous social media graphics to help your book promotion, please do take a look at Rachel's Random Resources

The only genres I am interested in receiving review requests for are (Contemporary only):

Chick Lit / Rom Com / Lad Lit
Romance (not erotica)
Women's Fiction
Crime
Mystery
Suspense
Thrillers
Psychological Thrillers
Travel Fiction

If your book doesn't fall into one of those genres, then I wish you all the best, and recommend you find other bloggers that will appreciate it far more than I ever will.

If you would like to to review a book on this blog, then please use my contact form, on the right hand side of the page, and include the following details:

  • Title and Author of book
  • Publisher (or self published if applicable)
  • Genre
  • Blurb
  • Page Count (or at very least an idea of book length, but not word count as they mean nothing to me!)
  • Publication Date (and time-frame when posting a review would be acceptable)
I do read all requests that come through the blog and endeavour to respond to them all in a reasonable time frame, so long as I believe you have at least read my policy. If your request is so far off base, then sorry you just won't be hearing from me.

Although I am open to requests, and always happy to look at them, I am tending to only accept anything that is likely to tempt me more than the rest of my personal non review TBR that I would love to eventually have time to dip into, so please do try, but don't be surprised if I decline.

That being said if you are an author of books that fit into the genres that I do read, I'm always happy to discuss and host pre-prepared content, whether its a guest post, character spotlight, cover reveal, blog tour (at my discretion) or anything else your imagination can suggest.

Please don't send unsolicited e-books, nor review requests for genres that I don't read. However please note that I use a kindle for ebooks, so will only accept .mobi files, as others won't work, and if I convert other file types there are massive formatting errors normally.

PDFs that have not been specifically formatted in a way that works properly when converted to .mobi will not be accepted, nor will I accept them to convert myself, as the formatting errors can really detract from the story.

All my reviews will be posted to Goodreads, Amazon and publicised on my Twitter.

All reviews on Rachel's Random Reads are 3 Stars or higher. I'm not the sort of person to publicly be negative about your work, as just because I don't like a book, doesn't mean I can't appreciate others will. As a result if I feel I can't give it a 3 Star review, or can't complete the book for whatever reason, I will let whoever supplied the book know privately.

If after the first 15% (or more) I am not enjoying your book, or can't get into it for whatever reason, then I wont be struggling my way through, as life is far too short to read books that I'm not enjoying, and frankly I always have a massive TBR pile to get through.

Please also be aware that I am a mood reader, and as a result I'm unlikely to agree to read anything to a specific date unless I have agreed to review for a blog tour.

When I receive a new book, I always add it to my spreadsheets, and have a separate sheet just for review books. As a result every time I look at that sheet I will be aware that your book is on the list, even if I don't pick it that time to read. It means that  I know I have your book, and I will get to it at some point, so please don't pressure me once I have agreed to read your book.
