Within days of wishing she could change her life, Fran Cooper is acting assistant to a celebrity, on a yacht in the Mediterranean, and en route to a tiny Italian island and the glittering Crystal Ball, along with the world’s rich and famous.

When she – quite literally – bumps into a handsome American called Evan, a man able to keep his cool in the face of chaos, the magic really begins.

Evan makes her a promise: no last names, no life stories, just one unforgettable night. Yet Evan belongs at the Crystal Ball and Fran is a gatecrasher. They may be soulmates, but their homes are an ocean apart, and their lives a world apart. They’ll never meet again – unless, on a night like this, everything can change forever…

Every time I see the title of this book, I have the Kylie song running through my head, which instantly reminds me of the Cinderella panto from my time working as a kids rep for TUI. And although this book certainly isn't a panto, it definitely is reminiscent of a fairy tale, complete with elements of rags to riches, in fact I can kind of see a fairy godmother in it too now that I think this through too, and certainly is a handsome "prince" sort of a role too!

So definitely has a fairy-tale kind of feel to it and it was an incredibly quick read that I didn't want to put down, and thankfully I found time  to read it in one go, which was the best sort of a treat I could have given myself.

From the moment that Fran agrees to a top secret temp assistant role with very little info known before the interview, or even fully understanding just what she is agreeing to, despite knowing her fiancée may not be overjoyed, it sets in wheels the motions that will change her life completely.

And it transports us readers to initially a yacht sailing around Italy, and then to the most amazing exclusive ball for the uber rich and famous, given the ticket price, that Fran doesn't technically have a ticket for.

Which is where the fairy-tale magic and fairygodmothe-resque elements fit into the story and from there she meets her potential Prince charming as well as us readers getting the most magnificent descriptions of this Ball, and a good idea about the sorts of people attending.

I just loved every single thing about this book, it's more a journey of discovery for Fran, and although their is a romantic element it wasn't the main focus, more about being true to yourself and not changing yourself to please others.

This hit all the right notes for me and felt like classic Lindsey Kelk, utterly brilliant, and I kind of hope we may see more from these characters in the future as I was really enjoying them.  Well all apart from Fran's fiancée, quite happy to not see him again!

Truly enjoyable and one all Kelk fans will certainly enjoy!

Thank you to Harper Collins and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
