It's the countdown to Christmas at Hedgehog Hollow Wildlife Rescue Centre, and everyone is gearing up for a festive season to remember...

It should be the most wonderful time of the year for Samantha and Josh as they prepare for the arrival of their first baby. But life at Hedgehog Hollow rarely goes to plan and the pair are faced with adversaries, old and new, and unexpected challenges to overcome.

Fizz's job at the heart of the rescue centre is a dream come true but her personal life is more like a nightmare. With her love life a disaster and her past about to dramatically catch up with her, she needs the love and support of her Hedgehog Hollow family more than ever.

As the snow falls over Hedgehog Hollow, will Samantha and Fizz find the Christmas miracle they need to overcome their heartache and find happiness?

Well Jessica Redland almost had me in tears while I was on the tube while I was devouring this spectacular series finale.

It is just the most perfect title for a book, and while I'm gutted the series has come to an end, if you do have to end a series then other authors should look at this for how to leave a reader satisfied, and incredibly happy for the characters.

But it's certainly not smooth going, and anyone who has been following the series from the start wouldn't have expected anything less than the amount of well literally everything that has been crammed into this book.

Sam's viewpoint is mixed with us finally getting Fizz's story, and what a backstory and secret she has. It is uncomfortable reading at times, but all dealt with in an appropriate manner from the author.

Full of drama, emotion, more animals than just hedgehogs (time has moved on since the end of book 5), joy and heartache this book grabs your attention from the first few pages, and doesn't let it go at any point. It's fantastic.

Always sad to see a much loved series end, but it really has been done in a spectacular way.

Thank you Jessica Redland for bringing Hedgehog Hollow in our hearts, and teaching us all about Hedgehogs, and how to look after them.  It has been a complete and utter pleasure reading this series.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

  1. Aw, thank you so much, Rachel. Delighted you loved the finale and the whole series. Particularly honoured with your comments on how to end a series - very flattering :-)
