Can a serial killer strike again when he’s currently sitting behind bars, sentenced to life?

DI Sally Parker delves into a baffling case of murder, when the remains of a victim are discovered in a farmer’s field. A cold case, the victim alarmingly has similar injuries to, notorious serial killer, Bob Davis’ seven other victims. Could he be responsible for killing this man and burying his body, before he was convicted?

Thinking this is a slam dunk case, Sally is shocked when another body turns up with comparable injuries to the cold case victim. A murder that happened a few days ago, leaving Sally confronted with a chilling possibility—has Davis been pulling strings from his prison cell all along?

Sally is forced to visit the serial killer in prison and leaves with his threat that ‘things are about to get interesting’ ringing in her ears. Will she unravel the truth before it's too late, or will her pursuit of justice become a deadly game of cat and mouse?

I love how M. A. Comley continues to make her series feel fresh, even  13 books in, this time with Sally teaming up a detective working on an active case that she feels may have a connection to their new cold case.

And as a fan of the author, I was also smiling as the incredibly brief cameos from two of the author's other series detectives, making me wonder if there could be a future book featuring a massive cross country case.

And this was an interesting case for Sally and Lorne to try to solve. I was as always in awe of these ladies and their crime busting capabilities.  It's always a joy to catch up with this series and I was devouring the words as fast as I could read them.

Was totally hooked, and definitely did not figure out who the killer was.

This was just another fabulous addition to a series that I ran out of new words to describe, many books ago, but rest assured this is a series going from strength to strength and I love devouring these books.

Thank you to the author for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
