Title: Sinner
When lies come back to haunt you there really is only one outcome… Justice.
DI Sally Parker is called to attend a crime scene at a construction site where a skeleton is discovered buried in concrete.
A perplexing investigation unfolds, Sally and her team need to sift through the sketchy evidence, not only to identify the victim but also to figure out the sinister motive behind their death.
Well this was a rather disturbing read, with some of the information uncovered about the potential victim, horrifying and hard to read. In fact I fear that depending on your own life experiences some people may struggle with some of the content in this.
However as horrified as I was, I was also completely gripped, and as the investigation began, I had an inkling that if the victim was who we thought it was, that I was fairly sure I knew who had done it, although I was right, I have to say the dead body deserved to be dead.
It's a tricky case as all of them for DI Sally Parker's team are, as it is clear it isn't a recent murder, and thus evidence is harder to come by, let alone an identification of the skeleton.
What I really loved was seeing how Sally and Lorne's partnership is starting to form properly now, although it still feels weird to me that Lorne isn't in charge. But with each book in this series, I'm getting more and more interested in all of the members of Sally's team.
I really would love to know what goes through the mind of the author, when she comes up with these plots, as I'm fairly sure it would be rather disturbing especially when pulling together a picture of someone that needs to be despised and is despicable.
Another truly fabulous addition to this rather addictive series.
Thank you to the author for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
