Being married to a celebrity isn't all it's cracked up to be, especially when that celebrity has a very public affair with his co-star…

Alice McBride is determined that the one thing she won't lose in her marriage breakup is Borne Manor, her beloved home, but she gets more than she bargained for when she rents it out for the summer and a sexy cowboy comes to stay.

Country music star Robinson Duff has had his own share of heartbreak and needs somewhere quiet to hide out for the summer. Neither Alice nor Robinson are in any position for romance; the timing is terrible and they're both rebounding like out of control frisbees.

Can a holiday romance help mend their broken hearts. Or will it just make things even worse when the long hot summer comes to its inevitable end?

If you are looking for a lovely romance with a sexy cowboy this summer, look no further than One Hot Summer. This is a sweet but steamy story of Alice and Robinson, with a fantastic cast of characters.

In fact its the sheer absurdness of the rest of the main characters in the Borne Manor, that really captured my heart, from a bird that screams obscenities, to an ex-porn star with his wig collection, and the local witch who does accidentally slip a love potion to Alice and Robinson. There is also the witch's son, and Alice's best friend.

They are a close knit community and really take Robinson to their hearts, when he arrives to rent Borne Manor from Alice, while she lives in a caravan at the bottom of the garden.  They both have things in common in their recent romantic pasts, and slowly it becomes apparent that there is something between them too.

The title One Hot Summer does not just apply to the weather in this summery book, but also the heat level of the holiday romance between a cowboy and the pixie at the bottom of his garden. They are smoking together, and its a pleasure to read on a cold day, as they really warmed me up.

One Hot Summer is a pleasant and enjoyable way to while away some time, unfortunately not my favourite book by this author, but still  a perfectly good story.

Thank you to Avon and Netgalley for this review copy. This was my honest opinion.
