HOW NOT TO GET THE GIRL…

Meet Mikey, every girl’s best friend – he bakes the creamiest cheesecake, loves movie nights and is a great dance partner.

For Jasmine, Mikey is the perfect flatmate – he owns a 50s diner that turns out the best food around, gives the best bear hugs and amazing romance advice – after all they’re scoping out the same hot guys! So when her boyfriend proposes in the worst possible way, Jazz knows her best friend will be there to pick up the pieces with gourmet popcorn, Pinot sleepovers and a shoulder to lean on.

But Mikey isn’t about to let Jasmine give up on love, and he’s ready to do whatever it takes to mend her broken heart – even if it means helping the one person who sees him as the enemy…

Because at the end of the day, all’s fair in the pursuit of true love… right?

This is a fabulous short story of true friendship, and about not letting your own personal feelings towards someone, get in the way of helping them get their happy ending.

Jasmine has a disastrous Valentine's Day date, when her boyfriend proposes in a truly awful way, without an ounce of romance in sight. Jazz just wants to get away from him, and luckily for her, she is due to leave for New York in ten days time, for her work.

Mikey is Jazz's flatmate, and also runs the most divine sounding 50s diner, that sells scrumptious sounding food. He is a sweet, sensitive soul, and doesn't want Jazz to give up on her boyfriend so easily, so agrees to help him, with a much better proposal in ten days time, and with trying to get him to generally more romantic.

Mikey though isn't too keen on the boyfriend and the feeling seems to be mutual. Mikey is the perfect flatmate and seems to be an all around fabulous guy. Just wish he would be interested in me!

How to Get Hitched in Ten Days is written in an easy to follow style, with the chapters alternating between Mikey and Jasmine's viewpoints. It is very easy to read, and can be finished within an hour or two, so perfect for when you want a reasonably short romance fix, with some great humour too.

I'm just slightly disappointed that this wasn't longer, so will have to wait to see what else Samantha Tonge has up her sleeve, for her fans this year. This is a great taster into her writing style and once again has some fantastic food descriptions too.

Thank you to Netgalley and Carina for this review copy. This was my honest opinion.

Happy Publication Day Samantha Tonge. How To Get Hitched in Ten Days is out now!
