Full of mouth-watering flavours, sunshine and escapist adventure, The Heavenly Italian Ice Cream Shop will delight readers with a taste for sweet treats and romance.

Anna and her husband Matteo are ready to embark a delicious Italian adventure. After a year and a half running their ice cream shop on Brighton beach and raising their baby Isabella, Matteo is starting to miss Italy. A shared passion for ices means it's easy to settle on a new business idea - they'll open a shop in the town's cobbled square, a short walk from the sparkling blue sea. For a while, life is sweet; but then Matteo's overbearing family get involved...

Anna's younger sister Imogen feels like things are finally coming together - she's living with boyfriend Finn in a beach house in Brighton, and her photography is taking off. Then her career stalls, and the lure of Capri - and a man from her past - prove difficult to resist.

Join Anna and Imogen and share a summer on the Amalfi Coast that you'll never forget.

I was delighted to see this book announced, I loved Vivien's Heavenly Ice Cream Shop, and was very excited to see this sequel was coming out. And I was not disappointed.

This truly is a perfect summer read, in fact I read it on a sunny summery afternoon in the garden, and couldn't put it down. It is a treat for the senses, I spent large amounts of the book drooling, over both the descriptions of the ice-creams but also of Sorrento, on the Amalfi coast.

The book is set between Brighton and Sorrento, with a short trip to Capri thrown in. If you love reading books featuring Italy, coastal areas, ice-cream, and strong family ties then this is definitely the book for you.

The Heavenly Italian Ice Cream Shop can easily be read as a standalone, as there is enough reference to the previous book to give you an idea of what went on, and enough to remind me of the finer points of it.

It's not all easy going though, there are a few revelations that add to the interest, as well as the anguish Anna feels over where the family should live is the best, especially with her run ins with Elisa, Marco's mother.

I would challenge you to read the prologue of this book and if not raise a large smile, then laugh out loud. It is a brilliant introduction to the book, especially with regards the mode of transport being used!

Abby Clements writes in an easy to follow style, and before you know it, a couple of hours will have passed and there won't be much of the book left. I felt such a part of this wonderful story. I am really hoping this isn't the last we have heard of from Anna and Imogen.
