Good Girls go to heaven. But Jet-Set Temptresses go everywhere. Miss Melisse is a high-priced call girl at the top of her game. She’s a sweet, smart and sassy vixen who always leaves them wanting more. AND she’s sharing her advice and success secrets with you, here…Melisse is more than a beautiful woman living the life of a modern courtesan. Even while satisfying the needs and desires of men who seek her out for sex, fantasy fulfillment and faux friendship, she secretly yearns to experience true love. She is also driven by a singular vision: to start La Fantasia—a luxurious, secret spa retreat—where women can relax and safely know pleasures beyond their wildest dreams with men they’ve only fantasized about…
Can she find real love—and fulfill her dreams—while navigating “The Life?” Part 1 in the Spicy Secrets Series: Learning The Life: In this coming of age story, young Melisse must suddenly survive on her own in the big city. She learns the nitty gritty of the old bump and grind in seedy strip joints before graduating to a deluxe ‘finishing school’ for ladies of the evening—a luxurious and discreet NYC bordello—where she learns the skills and subtleties of seduction. There she meets a mysterious madam/mentor named GG who inspires her to pursue a special goal…and she befriends a sexy new partner-in-crime named Shishapuss.
With experience and some upgrades, she quickly becomes a sought-after and sensual independent entertainer holding court in Manhattan and traveling the world with her well-heeled clients (and playing with spicy hotties in her spare time). While craftily juggling a colorful portfolio of rich, kinky and needy men (and one wily Middle-Eastern Sheik) she runs into the irresistible Brahim, a charismatic and fun-loving smarty pants with spicy secrets of his own. When sparks fly and love is ignited, this hot new guy might just be the greatest love of her life. Their first kiss has already got her wondering: Is there more to life than turning premium tricks?...And should she spare him a little of her (expensive) time?

Followers of my reviews will know its quite rare of me to read anything verging on erotica, or highly sexed to the extent that this book implies it could be. However when I was approached about reviewing this book, something really caught my imagination, and having now read the first book in this series, I am already eager for more.
Lantana Bleu draws on real life experiences as mentioned in the preface, and the impression I get is that she really knows her sex, has done a fabulous job researching this book, and the writing really reflects this.
This first part of the series, explains how Melisse became a top level courtesan, starting in strip clubs, and her friendships with GG and her closest friend in the bordello. We see just what drives Melisse as her vision for La Fantasia is explained, and I must say I am already rooting for this to become a reality, as I love the concept of a luxurious spa retreat for women, with male workers.
I really enjoyed reading some of the sexual encounters that Melisse has, between some of the fetish's her regulars have, to the hot and steamy men she meets in her non working life. There are many scenes that I will not touch on in detail, but lets say got me hot, bothered and I wish I was
Regularly punctuated throughout the book, are "spicy secrets". Initially the frequency of them I thought was going to be a deal breaker, but then they start to appear at a more regular pace. These secrets are a mixture of hints as to entertain your own multitude of lovers, should you be that way inclined, how to perhaps treat your own man slightly better, as well as quotes to do with your sexual nature.
Despite the subject matter of the book, I would not class this as pure erotica, in fact in places there was a distinct lack of the act being described, but more of a far more adult and mature themed romantic comedy. There are some really amusing scenes, plus one revenge scene that although well deserved, I felt could have been a lot less graphic. (Very glad I wasn't eating at the moment I hit that scene).
Melisse is just a regular girl, with a very healthy love of sex, trying to earn money to reach a goal. She is high class all the way, and barely drinks and doesn't do drugs. She is arguably an inspirational sort of person, as to what can be achieved, even if you personally don't agree with her chosen profession.
I loved The Spicy Secrets of a Jet Set Temptress and am eagerly awaiting the time when I can get my hands on books 2 and 3, to see how the story continues.
Thank you so much to Lantana Bleu for this review copy. This was my honest opinion.
