Life is a juggling act for single mother Ally Hughes. Between the classes she teaches at the local university, a monster of a boss, a home that’s falling apart at the seams and a young daughter who doesn't miss a trick, there isn't time for anything else in Ally's life. Especially romance.

Then she meets Jake, and for one incredible, mind-blowing weekend, anything seems possible. But timing is everything and as the weekend draws to a close, fate is not on Ally’s side.

Ten years later, and fate has Jake knocking at Ally’s front door. Now the one that got away is back, and Ally has some serious decision-making to do…

Is there such a thing as perfect timing? Or is love always a game of chance?

This is a story told in alternating chapters, going between the past when Ally met Jake for the first time, and ten years later, where she unexpectedly comes into contact with him again. Although the first two chapters were headed 10 years ago, and now, none of the other chapters had any headings, so it could have been a bit confusing initially until you realised what was going on.

When they first met, Ally was a single mother to ten year old Lizzie, and a professor at the university where Jake was a student. However there was one weekend that stuck in both of their minds, and was a very short but sweet love affair.

Now Lizzie is all grown up and is trying to make some dubious decisions of her own, and its some of the scenes involving here that were mildly disturbing but equally very gripping.

Ally has with the exception of that one weekend always put Lizzie first, and she is in turmoil when Jake reappears.

Despite the title, there isn't that much sex in the book, and its not the main focus of the story. It is though a very entertaining book, and a lot of fun.

I loved Lizzie's character, especially the 10 year old version of her, who just seemed amazing. I liked Ally, although couldn't find myself agreeing with some of her opinions.

Overall I really enjoyed Ally Hughes has Sex Sometimes, and would happily look at future books by Jules Moulin.

Thank you to Transworld, and Netgalley for this review copy. This was my honest opinion.
