How on earth has it been 4 years already? - #Giveaway

4 years ago today, Rachel's Random Reads was born.

This was meant to be a blog, an experiment for a month or two, or until someone gave me crippling bad feedback at which point I was intending to run away from blogging.

However it soon become apparent that the blogging community is on the whole, one of the friendliest I've ever been apart of, I feel like I'm part of a big book loving family and no longer the weirdo in the corner preferring to read over real life.

Although funnily enough since I started the blog, I've potentially had the most active social life of my adulthood - admittedly living in London does help, but 'I'm amazed at the amount of book launches, blogger / author meet ups and panel discussions I've been able to attend.

Only at the weekend I was up in Birmingham at a Team Sue Moorcroft lunch, which featured not only the wonderful Sue Moorcroft, but fellow blogger Anne Williams, Kim Nash, who many of you may know as the supplier of fabulous books for Bookouture, but in fact has her wonderful debut novel Amazing Grace out on Wednesday,  authors Maggie Sullivan, Mark West and Mick Arnold too.   Many of those I count amongst my close friends, so was a wonderful afternoon.

I've been incredibly lucky over the past four years, to be able to review some absolutely amazing books, and despite my fledgling blog tour organising business, Rachel's Random Resources going from strength to strength, and my having a lot less time to read or review, I have every intention of continuing with the blog.

I am far too addicted to Netgalley and to having my own small space on the internet to ever want to give this up.. so sorry but you are all stuck with me!

I would though like to give thanks to whoever it was that nominated me towards the end of last year for the RNA Media Star award,  I truly am honoured to have been nominated, and can only offer congratulations to The Writing Garnet,  whose reviews I really trust.   I've also been nominated in this years Blogger Bash awards - which is open to a public vote, and I hope to have a bit of info about that incredibly soon.

Lastly I would like to thank all the publicists, publishers, blog tour organisers, for all of the books that I have been trusted with to give an opinion on, and had many hours of pleasure reading, to all the book bloggers for your support,  and lastly and most importantly to anyone who has ever read any of my blog posts, or interacted with me,  I appreciate it far more than I can ever say.

Hopefully with all the best will in the world I will be back here same time next celebrating a 5th year!!

In the meantime...I feel a giveaway coming on, as I seem to include one every year on these posts.... so let's see what is lurking on my giveaway bookshelf for you all today...

  11. Congratulations! I do miss that weekly chance to tell you what to read, although I understand that as your blog has grown more successful there is a lot that you NEED to read as part of the blogging community. So the idea of letting YOU pick books for some of your followers to read randomly instead is very appropriate, a great and generous way to celebrate.

    1. Thanks Jane, honestly I miss the feature too, but with the workload I have at the moment, I just don't have the time to read as much as I did, and would end up stressed trying to finish something for the feature. If I can work out a way to bring it back in the future I will do.
