Title: I Know The Truth
She escaped his clutches.
Now she hides under a new name.
For the past five years, Lucy has lived in fear of her past.
But all that changes when Matthew enters her life.
Is she able to trust another man after...
Should she listen to her head or her heart?
As she fights for her future, someone is lurking in the shadows with their own agenda.
And they will determine whether she lives or dies.
On the face of it this could be a romance book, it certainly focuses on Lucy and her new possible relationship with Matthew. Only Lucy is hiding something massive from her past, and as things develop with Matthew, she is starting to wonder if she needs to come clean.
For someone appears to be targeting her and seems intent on either revealing the truth or destroying everyone that is close to Lucy.
And it is that creepy feeling, and darkness that means this is far more of a psychological drama, it creeps under your skin, and makes you wonder just what exactly it is Lucy is hiding, while fearing for her on all levels.
It is so impressive how M. A. Comley seems to excel at just about any genre she turns her hand to. I found I was really caring about the characters, and wanted to know just how things would turn out for Lucy. I loved her best friend Trish too, and her boss Shirley at the travel agent is also a great character.
Yet her new boyfriend Matthew, seems too good to be true, and his family are a nightmare I really didn't like his brother or mother at all.
This is definitely a book that gets darker as it proceeds and has you scratching your head as to just what is going on. We also get flashbacks and glimpses of Lucy's nightmares from the past so you can see just why she is very wary and her reactions in certain situations.
I did guess who may be targeting Lucy, but I had to keep reading to makes sure I was correct! A very enjoyable book that I'm very glad I had the opportunity to read.
Thank you the author for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
