Some places stay with you forever…
When Ellie Maddison is sent on a business trip to Southern Italy, she's reminded why she loves her job – set amongst rolling vineyards and rich olive groves, the beautiful Villa Rosso is the perfect escape from her life back home. But what Ellie isn't prepared for is the instant connection she feels to the estate's director Max Johnson, or the secrets they share that are as intertwined as the rambling vines that cover Villa Rosso.

It's not long before Ellie finds herself entangled in the history of the place, trying to understand the undeniable effect Max is having on her. As their relationship grows, what will Ellie discover about this idyllic villa and those who have walked through its doors?

What started as a simple work trip will change Ellie's life forever.

I adored Evie's trip to Italy and experiencing the Villa Rosso through her eyes. She has never been to Italy before, nor on a work trip abroad by herself, and the whole experience leaves a lasting mark on her.

She is in a loving marriage, with two teenage daughters, and believes that her husband Josh, is her soul mate.

Then she meets Max, and realises that its possible to have two soul mates, and she feels an inexplicable draw to him, and wants to help him.

There are fates and other such powers at play clearly in this book, and regardless of whether you believe in those or just that coincidences do happen, its clear that there were outside forces contributing to Evie's reaction to her trip to Italy.

This a story of love, of friendship, with a fabulous mystery in it, set to a backdrop of family life, with gorgeous interior design pieces and crafts, some fabulous characters, and reading this book weirdly gave me an overwhelming sense of calm.

It is another fabulous book from the always talented Linn B. Halton, and one that I am so glad that I had the chance to read.

Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Impulse for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
